چکیده
Sparganii Rhizoma and Curcumae (SRCR) are natural herbs used in traditional Chinese medicine to treat tumors activate blood circulation. Previous studies have shown that SRCR possesses notable antitumor activity; however, the mechanism underlying anticancer activity human oral squamous cell carcinoma (OSCC) has yet be fully elucidated. The risk factors of OSCC include smoking, alcohol consumption, poor hygiene, papillomavirus infection. is highly metastatic responds poorly chemotherapy; thus, alternative treatment options imperative. In this study, we found induced death cells but not normal (HGF-1 cells). also induce production reactive oxygen species cells, sequentially promoting calcium release stress endoplasmic reticulum, which resulted mitochondrial dysfunction subsequent apoptosis. Furthermore, inhibit migration by reducing matrix metalloproteinase-12 -13. Our findings demonstrate exerts activities inducing apoptosis suppressing migration.

Chemical Composition, Antioxidative and Anticancer Activities of the Essential Oil: Curcumae Rhizoma-Sparganii Rhizoma, a Traditional Herb Pair.
As a classical herb pair in clinics of traditional Chinese medicine, Curcumae Rhizoma-Sparganii Rhizoma (HP CR-SR) is used for activating blood circulation to remove blood stasis. The essential components in HP CR-SR and its single herbs were comparatively analyzed using gas chromatography-mass spectrometry data. 66, 22, and 54 components in volatile oils of Curcumae Rhizoma, Sparganii Rhizoma,...
متن کاملCircRNA_0109291 regulates cell growth and migration in oral squamous cell carcinoma and its clinical significance
Objective(s): Circular RNAs (circRNAs), a new class of non-coding RNAs, have emerged as important regulators during tumorigenesis. However, the functions of circRNAs have not been completely clarified in the progression of cancers. In our study, a novel circRNA hsa_circ_0109291 was investigated in oral squamous cell carcinoma (OSCC) tissues and cell lines. Materials and Methods: The expression ...
متن کاملAnticancer effect of aqueous extract of Persia rose on Oral squamous cell carcinoma
Background and Aim: Conventional cancer treatments usually have complex complications. Also, the resistance of cancer cells to treatments is a special point that indicates the need for alternative therapies such as the use of herbal compounds. The aim of this study was to evaluate the anticancer effect of aqueous extract of Persia rose on oral cancer cell line. Material and Methods: In this exp...
متن کاملA traditional Chinese medicine formulation consisting of Rhizoma Corydalis and Rhizoma Curcumae exerts synergistic anti-tumor activity.
Synergy analysis of anticancer agents is an important approach to determining the ratio and/or dose of drugs for clinical combination therapy. However, this method is rarely used to evaluate the composition of traditional Chinese medicine formulation. 'Yanhusuo San' (YHSS), which consists of yanhusuo (Rhizoma Corydalis) and Ezhu (Rhizoma Curcumae), has been an archaic Chinese medicine prescript...
متن کاملDownregulation of Kinesin Spindle Protein Inhibits Proliferation, Induces Apoptosis and Increases Chemosensitivity in Hepatocellular Carcinoma Cells
Background: Kinesin spindle protein (KSP) plays a critical role in mitosis. Inhibition of KSP function leads to cell cycle arrest at mitosis and ultimately to cell death. The aim of this study was to suppress KSP expression by specific small-interfering RNA (siRNA) in Hep3B cells and evaluate its anti-tumor activity. Methods: Three siRNA targeting KSP (KSP-siRNA #1-3) and one mismatched-siRNA (...
